Website Development Journey

Published on

This website's come a long way now since I've first put it together. So I thought that now would be a good time to review its development journey.

Initial development

When I first put this website together, I think it initially only had two main pages: The Homeand the About pages. This website was initially designed to be a portfolio website. I wasn't initially sure what pages I wanted to put on it. But it's interesting to see how the website developed over time.

Continued development

Not long after that, I believe that I added the Contact page. The initial implementation of the Contact page was mostly vibe coded. But the original implementation has been significantly updated. And now I think I understand how most of the page is put together.

Initially, the About page discussed a variety of topics and also include discussed several portfolio projects. I later decided that it was a good idea to have a seperate Portfolio page, so I added that as well.

Final development (?)

I had thought a while ago that it would be a good idea to add a blog to this site as well. After working on a lot of other projects, I finally got some time where I could focus just on adding the blog. And I was able to bang out all of the required feature in a few days. I vibe-coded some of the implementation details. But because the vibe-coded output didn't exactly match my set up, I still needed to modify the output to get it working just the way I wanted.

I don't know if there are any other features I want to add to the site. Overall I feel like it has everything I want it to have. But perhaps if I get other good ideas in the future I can try adding them and see how it goes.
